Zimbabwe Equity Markets | 9 Oct 2015: ZSE Industrial Index rebounds and ends week higher, Agristocks are strongest performers, Market Cap up US$7 Mill….

Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index rebounded and ended the week higher today as it recorded gains made during the days trading pushed up by strong performing agricultural stocks. The Industrial Index gained 0.0026 points to close 131.45 points, up by 0.20 percent. The ZSE Industrial index year-to-date settled at 19.41 percent. 

The market capitalization also rebounded to recoup previous losses to end at US$3,431 billion up by US$7 million compared to the US$3.424 billion recorded in the previous session. 

The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$921,981 exchanged in 11 traded securities via 24 trade transactions.  Three Foreign investor buys were recorded today by  Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited for US$675,000, Delta Corporation Limited for US$134,552, and foreign sales of OK Zimbabwe Limited for US$60,000. 

 

In terms of values and volumes traded among the 11 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited totalled US$675,777 exchanged in 2,502,876 traded securities, OK Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$60,000 exchanged in 1,000,000 traded stocks, Padenga Holdings Limited recorded US$40,660 exchanged in 451,773 traded stocks, Delta Corporation Limited totalled US$137,060 exchanged in 168,689 traded securities and Dawn Properties Limited recorded US$337 exchanged in 20,327 traded stocks. 

 

In terms of market activity/market strength, there were four price gainers and two price losers with five prices that remained unchanged, hence the market strength ended positive. The price gainers were Padenga  Holdings Limited  closed at US$0.090 after increasing by 12.50 percent, British American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$11.70 after increasing by 0.42 percent, Delta Corporation Limited closed at US$81.25 after increasing by 0.30 percent and  Seed Co Limited closed at US$99.20 after increasing by 0.20 percent. The price losers were First Mutual Holdings Limited which decreased by 4.76 percent or US$0.0010 to close at US$0.0200 and Old Mutual Limited decreased by 2.04 percent or US$0.0050 to close at US$2.400.

 

The Mining index remained on a flat path to close at 23.57 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0130 , Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
