Egypt Equity Watch | 3rd Aug 2015: Egyptian equity markets indices all down today, market cap loses by EGP 3.79 mill..

Egypt (Capital Markets in Africa):- Egyptian equity markets Benchmark Index EGX 30, EGX70, EGX100 and the EGX20 capped index were all down today as the markets floundered in the red and market capitalisation loses EGP 3.79 million in todays trading.

The benchmark index EGX30 was down 70.77 points to close the day on 8087.54, a  decrease of -0.87 percent from its previous close of 8158.31 points (with the resultant year-to-date performance of -9.40 percent and equal to 3,551 points in US$ terms).

The EGX20 capped index was down 84.954 points, falling by -1.03 percent to close at 8150.10 down from 8235.04 recorded at the last session (bringing year-to-date return to -18.75 percent).

The EGX70 index was also down -0.97 percent to settle at 453.54 down 4.46 points from its previous value of 459.12 registered yesterday (-19.79 percent year-to-date return).

The broader index EGX100 was down 1.9 points to settle at 936.94 points, a decrease of -0.20 percent from it’s previous close of 938.84 recorded yesterday (-14.08 percent year to date performance).

From a market activity perspective, today’s market capitalisation decreased EGP 3.797 million settling at EGP 493,696  down from EGP 497,493 million recorded for the day’s session.
