Cote d’Ivoire Market Watch | May 13th 2015: BRVM composite index gain 76 bps

Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (Capital Markets in Africa):- BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session today, higher than the previous day for both BRVM 10 index and BRVM Composite. BRVM 10 index rose from 269.30 to 271.35 points, a gain of 0.76%. BRVM Composite index gained 0.42% to 262.17 against 261.08 points previously.

 

The equity market capitalization was recorded at XOF 6,491.11 billion. Likewise, the traded value was recorded at XOF 726.325 million and total volumes recorded at 718,287 shares in 235 transactions. The top security by volume and valued traded were Ecobank Transnational Incorporated Togo with 688,252 traded shares and SONATEL Senegal with XOF 174.816 million respectively. The market sentiment was negative today (measured as advancer/decliners ratio) with five advancers and nine decliners.

 

On the one hand, top price gainers were SERVAIR Cote d’Ivoire (rose by 7.48% to close at XOF 51,600), BANK OF AFRICA Burkina Faso (gained 6.67% to trade at XOF 92,000), SONATEL Senegal (advanced by 1.95% to close at XOF 23,500) and VIVO ENERGY Cote d’Ivoire (went up by 1.06% to close at XOF 57,000). On the other hand, top price losers were SICABLE Cote d’Ivoire fell by 6.66% to close at XOF 70,005, CFAO MOTORS Cote d’Ivoire went by 6.57% to trade at XOF 64,000, BANK OF AFRICA Benin declined by 4.00% to close at XOF 120,000 and SAPH Cote d’Ivoire.
