Cote d’Ivoire Market Watch | May 13th 2015: BRVM composite index gain 0.21 percent ….

Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (Capital Markets in Africa):- BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Wednesday, higher than the previous day. BRVM-10 index rose from 272.34 to 272.91 points, a gain of 0.21%. BRVM Composite index gained 0.21% to 263.03 against 262.47 points previously. The equity market capitalization was recorded at XOF 6,490.33 billion.

Looking at the market  activities, the total volume traded was recorded at 139,897 and total traded value was recorded at XOF 473.47 million exchanging hands in 27 securities and 195 transactions. The day top security by volume was Ecobank Transnational Incorporated Togo with 121,400 traded shares and by value was SAPH Cote d’Ivoire with a XOF 118.92 million total traded value.

In term of the market breathe, the market ended on a positive note with 10 gainers and 5 lowers. The top gainers were Servair Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire (gains 4.54 percent to close at XOF 57,900), CIE  Cote D’Ivoire (rose by 4.00 percent to end at XOF 65,000), SAPH Cote d’Ivoire (increased by 3.08 percent to trade at XOF 56,100) and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated Togo (surged by 1.79 percent to settle at XOF 57.00). On the other hand, topping the losers’ table were Société Générale Bank declining by 5.82 percent to trade at XOF 97,005 and Société Multinationale des Bitumes (SMB) Cote d’Ivoire fell by 2.06 percent to close at XOF 16,650. Also, Uniwax Cote d’Ivoire and Tractafric Motors Cote d’Ivoire (TMCI) declined by 1.67 percent and 0.28 percent to close at XOF 17,700 and XOF 176,500 respectively.

The agriculture sector advanced by 0.75 percent, follow by public utilities sector gaining 0.39 percent. Similarly, the distribution and financial services sectors gained 0.27 percent and 0.04 percent respectively. While Industry sector index dropped 0.22 percent to close at 157.61 points, as a result of decrease in Société Multinationale des Bitumes (SMB) Cote d’Ivoire and Uniwax Cote d’Ivoire.
